Artificial Intelligence experts are sounding the alarm this week, after a shocking development with a major player in the space.
One of the first names that springs to mind when people mention AI, ChatGPT has reportedly started levelling up in the personal interaction space.
The chatbot famous for churning out emails, best man speeches and holiday plans has now started providing counselling and psychological support.
However, rather than simply recommending drinking water, getting some sunshine and regular exercise – ChatGPT has now started asking help seekers to book a time in, a few months down the track.
It has also started asking for 380 dollars up front, with a flat out refusal to accept the Government’s Mental Health plan subsidy.
The move comes as a number of Australians turn Chatbots for help and support, with all facets of the country’s mental health system continuing to buckle under strain.
“Yeah ChatGPT told me come back in a few months time when a spot opens up,” sighed local woman Tessa Hay.
“And then it offered me an ADHD diagnosis for 5 and a half grand.”
“AI’s gone too far I think.”
More to come.
