Broncos Fans Now Displaying Mid-2000s Levels Of Obnoxiousness

The South-East corner of Queensland is currently in the throes of a transformation, as millions of latent Brisbane Broncos fans emerge from hiding.

This is the first time this unique brand of obnoxiousness has been seen since the snippets that were witnessed in the lead up to the 2023 final against Penrith.

However, with the Panthers no longer as intimidating as they were at in the midst of the four-peat, 2025 feels different.

This is because Broncos fans are not pinching themselves over the fact that they are currently at the top of the NRL ladder – after a hard fought year that has seen the players find a groove in the most important finals weeks of the season.

The Broncos’ staged a stunning turnaround from 28-12 down to a 29-28 win in extra time of the qualifying final in Canberra last night, in a match that has been dubbed ‘The Comeback in The Capital’

It has resulted in extreme levels of unpleasantness and annoyingness amongst long-hibernating Brisbane fans, who have bit their tongue for nearly two decades since their early 1990s/2000s golden age ended with Wayne Bennett leaving to coach St George.

Their 2015 grand final appearance felt similar to 2023 – as nobody felt truly confident that the Broncs could reverse engineer the momentum that saw the Johnathan Thurston’s Cowboys hurtling at warp speed towards their first ever Premiership.

But with Reece Walsh back feeling himself after a sickening season-ruining late hit in the 2024 Origin series, and Ben Hunt’s nerves of steel – the Broncos are going supersonic.

Images from the Caxton Hotel in the final seconds of last night’s golden point thriller show a reactivated fanbase going just as ballistic as Madge in the coaches box.

This energy has been repeated in office buildings and worksites across Australia today, as Broncos fans tell the world to eat shit and fuck off – regardless of how isolated they are.

The obnoxiousness has only been amplified today, after word spreads that Reece Walsh will not be facing any suspensions for a hairy headbutt that saw him sinbinned last night.

“Bahahahahaha suck it” says Canberra-based Broncos fan, Berrigan Mogg, to his coworkers this morning.

“Oh my God last night was so good hahaha”
