After a few months basking in the glory of a long awaited premiership, the Brisbane Broncos have come crashing back to earth.
The 2025 Premiership winners are now wallowing in the pain of knowing this year is a write off, following a 6 point loss to Super League Champs Hull KR.
With plenty of narratives having been written around the 2026 season for the Brisbane Broncos, it looks like it may all be for nought after the 30-24 loss this morning.
The devastating result in the pre-season fixture between the winner of the Super League and the winner of the NRL now means the Broncos are pretty much just making up numbers this year.
"Yeah, there's no farewell for Haas, no swan song for Reyno," sighed local NRL Pundit on Triple MMM Betoota, Berrigan Barnes.
Despite finishing fast and nearly running down Hull in the final minutes, Berrigan says teams just 'don't recover from losses like that.'
"I think you can pretty much just put a line through the Broncos after what we saw this morning."
"It's a real shame, but that's just the way it is mate."
More to come.
