A late 20s city woman has today sat down with The Advocate to explain the financial plight she finds herself in.

Andrea Lam told our burgeoning regional masthead that she’s been forced to take out an overdraft, ahead of a trying few months.

“Yeah, my partner and I are living pedal to the metal after our wedding last year and the purchase of a little 2 bedder at the beginning of this one,” she sighed.

“And it seems like I was the first domino to fall in my wider friendship circle.”

“Because now everyone is engaged and getting married apparently.”

“Which means like 6 hens parties before the end of the year and then a couple at the start of next.”

“And I’m sure a couple more random ones of people from work or whatever will pop up.”

“Which is a nice predicament to be in, in one sense.”

“But it is going to financially ruin me.”

Lam talked us through the nature of some of the Hen’s parties she’s already on the hook for.

“2 nights accomodation, boat cruises, nice dinners that everyone’s way too pissed to even enjoy, the whole fucking shebang.”

“Then add in drinks, whatever else, outfits, food, travel.”

“You gotta pay the cost to be in the Bride Tribe hey.”

“Could be worse I guess.”
