South African Cricket Team Unveil Special Commemorative Chokers Ahead Of World Cup Semi Final

The South African cricket team have today revealed a special new decorative item for the knockout stages of the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Famous for fumbling the bag whenever it matters, the Saffas have decided to lean into their history and wear a special range of chokers for their upcoming match.

“It’s just a nice little nod to the Proteas who have come before us,” said controversial wicket keeper batsman Quinton De Kock.

“We have a proud history of choking in the big moments, so it’s great that we can celebrate that achievement as a playing group,” explained De Kock, whose team probably need to have a chat to the Springboks, the winners of 4 from 8 Rugby World Cups.

It’s believed all players will wear the chokers during the Semi-Final with Australia tomorrow night – if the match isn’t washed out.

A massive storm off the Bay of Bengal is believed to be a big chance of washing out the game, putting the Saffas through to their first ever ODI World Cup Final.

Cricket’s weird laws mean that the game can’t be moved or pushed back a day, so South Africa would automatically qualify as the higher placed finisher from the group stages.

The powerful cricketing nation have never made the final of a 50 over world cup due to their incredible ability to do things like fail to score more than 1 run off 4 balls, or capitulating in the field in the big moments.

If somehow the storm comes to their rescue, De Kock confirmed that they would wear their chokers in the final against India or New Zealand.
