The Bearded Woodpecker in Betoota’s French Quarter district has this week been praised for a landmark move.

In what is hoped will inspire a generation of a change, the popular watering hole has decided to start offering decently price pub roasts.

Leaning in to the institution that is a Sunday roast, the local independently owned pub has decided to make an offer people can’t refuse.

20 dollar Sunday roasts.

Pork, Lamb, Chicken.

Big healthy serving of veges with a little teapot of gravy.

Nothing too fancy, but 20 bucks.

Speaking to The Advocate one local man who enjoyed the deal, says he’s pretty happy to make it a ritual.

“Mate, I don’t give a shit about red wine jus,” laughed Brett Doolan today.

“A good honest roast, nothing to extra, and a great price.”

“I endeavour to go back every single Sunday I can.”

“Early dinner, watch the footy, Bob’s your uncle.”

It’s a promise that publican Phil Lung is keen to take up.

“Yeah look, we aren’t making the biggest margins, but at least it might become a thing.”

“Other than hoping for people to come in and pay 40 dollars for a meal, that at that price, gets you a good feed at a legit restaurant.”

“So we’ll just whack a fuck load of roasts on and hope they come.”

More to come.
