The nation has once again been left scratching its head today, at the actions of our politicians.

The cause for consternation comes after it was revealed that Opposition Leader Peter Dutton (and a raft of other politicians) have been racking taxpayer funded bills up on extremely expensive flights to and from major sporting events.

However, while some might argue we shouldn’t be funding our politicians to go and get on the piss at major events that they can pay for themselves, the real concern has been raised around why Peter Dutton would fly to Sydney, to attend the Rugby 7s.

“That’s a serious fucking head scratcher,” said local Chermside man Warren Phillips.

“He billed taxpayers to go down to Sydney and watch a full day of 7s rugby???”

“What the hell is up with that.”

Phillips confirmed to The Advocate that he is aware how much of a party the 7s circuit can be, and is fully supportive of dress ups and sing along’s to Sweet Caroline, but he just can’t understand why Dutton wanted to be apart of that.

“I guess Peter’s been to enough events on the taxpayer dime to know the words to Sweet Caroline, but it’s not exactly like he’s a party animal,” said Phillips.

“Why he spent a weekend going to that is beyond me.”

“I mean, I do also find it weird that the government supposedly cutting down on Government waste has no issue racking up bills to attend sports events.”

“But that’s just politics I guess.”
