A local sexagenarian has been left in a state of befuddlement this week, after being thrown yet another curveball by his kids.

The run of the mill middle class dad from Betoota Heights explained to The Advocate that he really just can’t wrap his head around how his kids operate.

Berrick Warnes (62) said that he fears he may never know what is and isn’t cool again.

“I mean I get mixed up on why some of the music I listen to like Fleetwood Mac and Queen is cool, but other stuff is terrible,” he said.

“I get that though, music is subjective and tastes can change.”

“But the clothing stuff and the language I don’t think I’ll ever get.”

Berrick said the moment for serious reflection came after he saw his daughters outfit this morning.

“She came out dressed like my favourite author,” laughed Berrick, who is quite partial to a 600 page rundown of a historical event or figure.

“The bandana, the shoes, the denim…”

“As she says, it was ‘giving’ Peter FitzSimons.”

“The white Kmart looking joggers that dad’s around the western world have been wearing for decades seem to be a staple of her outfits now.”

“But the bandana seems questionable for a 20 year old uni student, even for a man with questionable fashion tastes like myself.”

“Really baffled me.”

“Who knows any more.”

The Advocate contacted his daughter for comment, but were informed that our publication is ‘cringe.’

More to come.
