A local member of Arne Slot’s Red Army has today informed his boss that he is not feeling very well today.

Joe Grieve (28) communicated his illness to his boss this morning via text message, confirming that he had come down with some tummy bug and didn’t want to spread it to the rest of his office.

Speaking privately to The Advocate about his sicky, Grieve denied it had anything to do with him drinking schooners until 5am this morning.

“Honestly, I think the bug hit me around 3 last night and I just didn’t get much sleep,” explained the mad Liverpool fan who may or may not have attended the Churs Sports Bar in Betoota’s Old City District last night.

The cause for suspicion from Joe’s boss comes after Liverpool won the Premier League last night, absolutely pumping Tottenham Spuds in front of a packed Anfield.

The stunning victory comes just a year after manager Jurgen Klopp left the club, signalling the end of a very successful era for Liverpool.

Many fans had been quietly nervous that they may have to wait another 30 years for a Premier League title, but Dutchman Arne Slot brought immediate success to the club heavily supported by Aussies (because of Craig Johnston and Harry Kewell’s proud history with them).

Grieve’s absence at his employment has been a similar occurrence across the nation, with workplaces experiencing staff shortages as a result of the Sunday night, Monday morning game.

More to come.
