The Opposition is today frantically trying to do what it can to mature the Australian population.
This comes as the majority of the country prepare to head to the election booth on Saturday, with polls showing Labor is a very strong chance of forming government in some capacity.
That means that if Peter Dutton wins his seat, he is unlikely to be Prime Minister, despite being so close a couple of months ago.
The slide in polls and popularity has led to many frenzied discussions amongst the media and political class, but The Advocate can now exclusively reveal that the main reason for the slide is the nation’s immaturity.
As explained by Dutton himself earlier this week, many Australians don’t vote for the Coalition until they reach maturity – or understand that their housing assets need to be protected at all costs.
Speaking to news.com.au, Mr Dutton said “And for a lot of young people, it’s probably not until they buy a home and have a mortgage that they start to worry about economic management and job security.”
“People are renters for longer, and generally that means that they’re more inclined to support the Labor Party. Then, as their views mature politically, they come across to the Liberal Party,’’ he said.
However, unfortunately for the Coalition it seems like not enough Australian’s have matured, with many locked out of the basic human right which is the right to home.
It’s unknown what the Coalition plans to do about maturing the nation, but insiders have confirmed it won’t have anything to do with the party appealing to an immature base.
More to come.
