The Coalition is once again reeling from an internal spat.

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has been dumped from the front bench by the Opposition Leader Sussan Ley, 8 days after making the foolish decision to demonise the ‘wrong brown people.’

Shooting to national prominence off the back of the Voice Referendum and a position of power in a party that loves to talk about brown people on boats – Jacinta has now flown a bit too close to the sun.

The controversial Northern Territory Senator caused a storm by criticising the government for ‘allowing too many Indian migrants because they vote for the Liberal Party.’

While initially not drawing too much of a reaction from her colleagues, once the realisation occurred that a fair few of their electorates have quite a high population of people with Indian heritage, huge numbers of the Liberal party started getting a bit hot under the collar.

That has led to Sussan Ley being forced to stand Jacinta down from the front bench, in what comes as a stark reminder that you need to be a bit more strategic with your demonisation of brown people.

“May I take this opportunity, as leader of the Liberal Party, to apologise to all Indian Australians and indeed others who were hurt and distressed by the comments that were made, comments that I said at the time should not have been made,” said Sussan Ley.

Price will now move to the backbench, where she definitely will pull her head in and quietly go about trying to improve the lives of her constituents.

More to come.
