Jeez Glad We Followed These Fair-weather Friends Into Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan And Every Other War They’ve Started Over The Last Century

War hawks across the country’s media and political class are today desperately trying to see what is wrong with America.

This comes after the US Secretary of Defense (sic) Peter Hegseth announced he has told the Defense Department to conduct a review of the AUKUS agreement.

The move is likely a play from the US administration to get Australia to increase it’s defence budget by a couple of percent, aka an eye watering chunk of money.

Signed to much fanfare by our former Prime Minister who know works as a highly paid defence lobbyist, the AUKUS agreement was a defence pact between A, UK and US.

On Australia’s part, the military alliance came with a $368 billion dollar commitment to a handful of submarines that are going to be redundant when the arrive in Australia in like 3 or 4 decades or whatever.

With pats on the back all round at the time, the current US regime has decided that it’s not really that keen on the whole agreement.

That comes despite Australia spending the best part of the century crawling up America’s arse and following them into every single conflict across the globe.

“Yeah, what the heck,” sighed some war hawk who moon lights as a columnist for a major newspaper running off the back of a real estate publication.

“All this effort, all this money, all this diplomatic ball cradling…”

“And it might be for nothing.”

“I guess we’ll just have to give American arms companies heaps more money and blow up or relationship with our biggest trading partner again, to comfort ourself with the fallacy that the US will protect us in the event of an illogical Chinese invasion.”
