Channel 7 have done it again!
The most well regarded news organisation in the country have once again managed to blow their opposition out of the water, in the race to the big story.
Not content to rest on their laurels after a big 12 months of scoops and hires, Channel 7 have just dropped a bombshell announcement about a huge new get.
In an Australian first, Channel 7 and their Spotlight program have managed to secure an exclusive interview with the Dutch Beach Volleyball player who spent 13 months in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old.
The bloke was somehow allowed to represent his country at the Paris Olympics this month, making it through to the Quarter-Finals of the event.
The player was roundly booed throughout all of the games, hitting out at the ‘bullies’ in the crowd.
Now, in a national first (they were beaten to the punch by some Channel 7 equivalent in the Nederlands), the player is speaking to Spotlight to reveal his side of the story.
Despite having plenty of opportunity to give his side of the story during a prolonged court case were he was found guilty, the player will now exclusively reveal some shit that Channel 7 will use for headlines for weeks.
The interview will go live this Sunday night, and is being hailed as another brilliant example of why Channel 7 are staying relevant in this changing media landscape.
More to come.
