Drive Home From School Derailed As Local Mum Takes A Detour Through The Rich People Suburb

A simple drive home has today been hijacked by a wistful mum, who decided to take a look at how the other half lives.

It’s alleged Julie Porter [33] picked up her son Daniel after school that afternoon and had been feeling a bit glum after a day off, pottering around the house.

Prior to husband and kids, Julie had spent a good portion of her time reading romance novels and fantasising about meeting a hot stranger, which helped add some much-needed spice to her boring days at home.

But now that she’d reached a new echelon in life, her coping fantasies have evolved to dreaming about the lotto and envisioning herself living in Betoota’s French Quarter.

A highly unlikely dream, given the median house value is $700k.

To keep this fantasy alive, Julie likes to take a small detour after school at least once a month, and point out her favourite houses to a very uninterested Daniel – which involves slowing the car to a suspiciously slow pace in front of people’s homes.

“Ooooh, I like that one.”

“I wonder why they painted it dark blue? Completely overpowers everything.”

“See that one Daniel? Always get the worst house on the best street.”

“Is that the whole house or is it a couple of townhouses? Nobody needs that much space.”

“Wonder what they do for a living?”

More to come.
