As Sydney and Melbourne continue to cough on each other, a local Brisbane woman is making the most of her freedom.

Sophie Marsden said she has booked a ticket to Magnetic Island on a whim after watching Eat, Pray, Love.

As she was yet to experience the obligatory Bali trip, Sophie has had to improvise now that she can’t leave the state – especially if she wants to experience a whirlwind romance with an English boy.

And there would no doubt be a couple of them, considering she chose a cheap backpackers hostel a minute’s walk from all the bars.

Although her week away will likely involve a lot of booze and partying, an optimistic Sophie has decided to pack one of the overdue library books from her bedroom floor – a massive fantasy novel she started two months ago.

It’s alleged that Sophie not only didn’t take a photo of herself reading a book overlooking the ocean, with the caption ‘Day for it’, but that the book didn’t even leave her suitcase.

“I’d like to be the kind of person who reads a book on their holiday”, says Sophie sheepishly, “that’s a person who’s got their shit together.”

More to come.
