The nation has once again been reminded where the majority of the country’s media class reside.

This comes after a downpour in Sydney makes countless headlines across the nation, with everyone outside of Sydney supposed to give a shit or something.

The monthly heavy shower for Australia’s biggest city has of course generated wide spread media attention, unlike the devastating natural disaster unfolding in South Australia.

The algal bloom, that is and will continue to devastate the coast of SA and Adelaide somehow only manages to nab a headline here and there.

While the Prime Minister is considering rolling out a flood relief package for the people in Sydney whose commutes were disrupted and their clothes got wet, little has been done about the shocking environmental disaster that is killing marine life and severely impacting industries who rely on that marine life.

“Yeah unfortunately they are going to need that Algal bloom to spread down to Melbourne or Sydney if they want to get some attention,” explained local Betoota Meteorologist Aisling Muprhy.

“And they are certainly going to need to drop the schtick about the algal bloom being caused by a shocking marine heatwave that may or may not have something to do with global temperatures rising at an alarming rate.”

“Because if they want to bang on about that stuff, well I don’t think they are going to win many of the media or political class over.”

More to come.
