OF COURSE: A friendship group of young Betoota renters are absolutely seething after discovering their once “povo” friend’s sharehouse is owned by his Dad.

The sharehouse located on the edge of Betoota Grove, is a gorgeous 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom terrace house, with a dishwasher and a ducted air conditioning system throughout.

28-year-old freelance designer, Wesley Dimms has been living in the house since he moved out of his parents place in 2021. Wesley’s bedroom is the largest of the three, with an en suite and built-in wardrobe.

Wesley’s friend group of predominately struggling artists had always assumed he hit the rental jackpot.

“The place is nicer than some hotels… Not that I’ve ever been in those hotels but if I did I reckon Wes’ place is better” 24 year old actor Lachie shared with the Advocate.

Some of his friends, however, had their suspicions.

“The interior design of the place is weirdly nice, and all the furniture is like a light colour. You don’t get a white couch in a sharehouse, that’s like rule number 1” Wesley’s friend Sharlene told the Advocate.

But all was exposed one Sunday evening when Wesley was hosting drinks (BYO) when his father, 67 year old Greg Dimms entered the house (with his own key) to fix the broken stove top. To top it off, Greg asked if Wesley could try to sweep the leaves on the front porch to avoid build up.

Wesley’s friends were left shocked at the interaction.

“Yeah like I would do the same if my parents had an investment property but also I’m living in a 6 person sharehouse. Harry Potter’s room under the stairs is an upgrade from my room. So fuck you Wesley” Sharlene told our reporter.

“It makes a lot of sense why he’s a designer, I’m actually not even certain what he designs, I assume graphics?” Confused friend, Lachie shared.

“Worst part is that Wesley’s such a cheapskate, I slept over one time on the couch and he asked for a contribution to the rent that week.”

Wesley refused to comment on his housing situation.
