Australia’s Gas Companies Begin Identifying As ‘Sovereign Citizens’ Who Don’t Have To Pay Taxes

The ‘Sovereign Citizen’ movement which was once a fringe concept that mostly existed in the darkest corners of the internet, is now being embraced by some of Australia’s biggest companies.

The ideology increased in popularity at the height of the Nations pandemic restrictions. Draconian laws such as ‘please stay inside for a little while or a bunch of old people will die unnecessarily’ were too much for some members of society to embrace.

Instead of adhering to the regular law which applies to ordinary people, these geniuses have devised a system of their own; only following the laws that don’t infringe on the shit that they want to do.

After being lauded by a minority of people who just didn’t want to wear a mask, sovereign citizen language and ideas are now being used by Australia’s largest gas companies.

A representative from Santos, James Farkwhit spoke with Advocate.

“Initially we brushed off these guys as total cookers, but after digging a little deeper and going down the rabbit hole ourselves, we realised the legitimacy of their claims. Why the fuck should we abide by everyone else’s rules? We should be able to make as much money as we want without government intervention, we are above the law.”

“The only major disagreement we have with the Sov Citz is their collective desire to live off the grid in a self-sustained environment. Solar panels aren’t reliable and they need to be replaced frequently, gas is the only reliable solution and we fervently believe…..”

Mr Farkwhit rambled on about how gas was absolutely essential to bridge the gap between now and 2050 for some time, before totally derailing the conversation by talking about his admiration of Barnaby Joyce’s courage to scrap net zero.
