111 years after the brave young diggers were ambushed on the shores of Gallipoli, Australia has finally tasted sweet revenge against the Turks.

The Socceroos have dismantled Türkiye by two spectacular goals in the opening World Cup, immediately validating coach Tony Popovic and his contentious selection calls.
