Local mother of 2 Sarah Harvies (43) is skipping out on the showbags at this year's Easter Show.
Though both kids quickly entered into a mid-evening meltdown, Sarah’s maintaining it was worth every penny of the forty bucks saved.
“Have you seen the prices?” she asked.
“20 bucks for a showbag. Absolute fat chance!”
Sarah confirmed she’d much rather spare the cash on a couple chocolate bunnies down at the local IGA.
And considering the $150 she’ll drop when driving up to Nan’s place on the coast this Sunday, Sarah said the extra treat just isn't in this year's budget.
“Plus, she’ll have something sorted for them anyway, even if it’s those weird knock-off chocolate eggs,”
“If anything, this fuel crisis has kind of been a blessing. Don’t have to get the kids a showbag and I get to skip Good Friday lunch with the in-laws. To be honest, I’m stoked!”
The children shared a Bluey themed bag of treats at last year’s show and were reportedly expecting their own each this year.
Unfortunately, a national fuel crisis and soaring cadbury prices have burst that bubble.
Sarah’s partner Daryl was left with both screaming children while she took off to check out the baking competition.
