A French Quarter man who enjoys the finer things in life has today taken a moment to remind his colleague of just that.
Alistair Huxley (28) from our town's cosmopolitan equivalent of Newtown, West End and Brunswick, has feigned a lack of awareness about the NRL Grand Final.
Despite 4.26 million viewers tuning in to the thrilling finale of the NRL season between the Chooks and the Knights, Huxley said he didn't even know it was on.
"Oh yeah everyone seems to be going on about this sport's match lol," said Huxley.
"I was actually at German Psy-Trance night and totally didn't even realise it was on."
"I mean, I knew the Aussie Rules one was on, but only because of Kylie haha."
"Aussie Rules? Isn't that such a funny thing to say when you think about it?"
Before he could continue, our reporter asked whether the disdain shown for the past time of a large number of Australian's might not be helping the party he occasionally hands out for.
"Oh I mean not really," continued Huxley who can't understand why the Greens and the greater left movement are struggling to get traction with middle Australia in the middle of increasingly tough times.
"Like that stuff has nothing to do with actually policy," said the man who wants someone to replicate the success of people like Abdul El-Sayed who is stacked af and captained his school's football team, and Zohran Mamdani who can recite every New York Knicks player in living memory.
"It's really about getting people to understand they should be voting in their actual interests."
Our reporter nodded.
More to come.
