Annoying Lawyer Friend Corrects Every Story Embellishment

It was a wet summer’s day in Betoota and friends Jim and Claz were just trying to help pass the time by regaling their friends in tales from a recent camping trip to the outer Betoota Lakes.

Everyone was laughing and losing themselves in the story. Everyone except Gen, a partner at a leading Betoota law firm, who would interrupt the story with unnecessary fact checks like some kind of self-appointed arbiter of truth.

“FFS Gen, just shut up and let us tell the story,” snapped Jim.

“Have you never heard of ‘never let the truth get in the way of a good story?’” added Claz.

“Of course I have, but what you’re saying is just not factually accurate” retorted Gen, sounding like someone who has no idea how to have fun.

“Omg. Just go away, you’re missing the point.”

Sneaking off to speak with The Advocate, Claz and Jim explained how this isn’t the first time Gen has ruined a perfectly good story.

“Usually we try to just not talk when she’s around because there’s always something for her to correct.”

It’s understood that this isn’t unique to Gen and her friendship group, with a number of other people with lawyer friends coming forward to reveal they too hate telling stories in front of their lawyer friends

According to these people, it’s best to just ignore your lawyer friends because this “riles them up more than any wrong fact can.”

More to come.
