Animal Rights Groups Rejoice As Brunswick Street Now Hosts More Greyhounds Than Sandown Dog Track

A report conducted by Animal Welfare Melbourne (AWM) has this week revealed that the number of greyhounds on Brunswick Street has officially surpassed the number of greyhounds on the Sandown Racetrack in Springvale.

Brunswick Street, Fitzroy has long sustained a booming greyhound population as the alternative couples who inhabit this town not only have morally superior political views but also have morally superior pets.

“It’s just the right thing to do,” said greyhound owner Daniel Sparkes from a local dog friendly café whilst sipping a magic.

“He’s so much happier now that I’ve saved him,” said Sparkes holding his greyhound’s leash who sat by his side looking panicked and afraid.

“You should see him go zoomies at Edi gardens, it’s actually really impressive. He probably would have been a pretty good runner back in the day ha ha.”

A spokesperson from the Sandown racetrack was also interviewed in relation to the report’s findings.

“It’s a sad day for the racing industry, it’s sad to see these once glorious animals paraded around in ridiculous jackets by people with weird haircuts,” Mr Evans grumbled.

The AWM says that if this trend continued, we could see the closure of the majority of Victorian racetracks.
