As Netflix basks in the glory of yet another successful series of the Lincoln Lawyer, one of the main characters has lifted the lid on his secret sauce.
Angus Sampson, who players the ex-bikie hardman character Cisco, revealed to The Advocate the gruelling regime he goes through to prepare for filming.
Dismissing the rumours that he consumes half a cubic metre of gravel throughout the filming of each season, Sampson said he's actually spent countless hours studying the work of former QLD Origin great Darren Lockyer.
"Mate, it's been quite a journey," laughed Sampson, who's enjoyed another season as the right hand man to the roguish Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller.
"Hours and hours in the studio studying the great man's tone, vocal cadence and delivery."
"Watching Queensland Origin vodcasts, listening to Locky appear on SEN radio segments syndicated as podcasts, lying awake into the early hours falling asleep to Locky on Bloke in a Bar."
"That's how you craft the perfect gravelly voice."
"And they seem to lap it up in the states," said Angus, with confirmation the Lincoln Lawyer will be rolled out for another season.
When pressed on whether Lockyer's black gloves might make an appearance in the next season, Sampson remained tight lighted.
More to come.
