One of the hottest musical acts in Australia have once again proven a long held theory about music.

Amyl and the Sniffers have confirmed this week that Aussie music is actually at its best when 60-year-old white blokes in suits keep their noses out of the creative process.

This comes after the band won 4 Arias last night, including the Aria for Album of the Year.

The stunning wins also follow a bumper couple of years where the unique Aussie band have played the biggest shows around the world and drawn love from all corners of the world.

The theory was backed up by Cenny Coast emerging superstar Ninajirachi, who won the best Solo artist, roughly a decade after she emerged through Triple J Unearthed.

Resident long term music aficionado at Betoota's 96.9 Desert Rock FM, Richard Warhurst spoke to The Advocate about the recent Aria awards.

"Yeah, funny how good Aussie music can be when a long lunch merchant whose finger hasn't been on the pulse for a few decades, just lets young Aussie artists cook," said Warhurst.

"Instead of trying to shoe-horn industry plants into the cultural zeitgeist and trying to make the general public fall in love with them."

"How good is it to see a couple of gals from Mullum and the Cenny Coast ripping it up and being recognised for it."

"This is living."

More to come.
