Opposition leader Anthony Albanese has been treated for shock today as the lifelong Rabbitohs fan nearly experienced a rare taste of victory.
Since serving as deputy Prime Minister in the Rudd 2.0 era of 2013, Mr Albanese has not had much of a win, except for in his electorate of Grayndler which like his beloved Rabbitohs jersey is a clash of red and green.
After being accused of not using his platform to call out the Morrison government, Mr Albaneses has been going hard on social media all week with updates about how Souths rejoined the comp 20 years ago and how good it is to go for a ‘Foundation Club.’
“I think I want to cry but I’m not sad, I feel…I feel weird!” stated the confused opposition leader with two Rabbitohs flags in each hand and a couple wedged between his toes for good measure.
“Always next year.”
