NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is expected to announce all spicy cough restrictions will be removed from 12pm today as Victoria threatens to break the national daily case record for 1599 that was set by NSW earlier this year.

Victoria recorded 1438 cases today, which is pretty much double their previous record and twice as much as they had yesterday.

Gladys spoke to AM Radio in Sydney this morning where she said New South Wales would rise to the challenge.

“I’ll admit that this has taken me by surprise,” she said.

“But can I just say, the people of NSW will rise to the challenge and make sure that we have the national daily case record,”

“To make sure we have the record forever, I am removing all restrictions in NSW from 12pm today. Please stand close to each other and touch your face more than Barnaby does,”

“If we all work together, we can make sure that NSW is a leader in everything.”

The Advocate reached out to the Victorian Premier’s Office for comment but have yet to receive a reply.
