A local hobby a year kind of guy has today found himself at a crossroads.

Brad Turner (32) of Betoota Heights says he hasn't faced a conundrum like this since the great golf v fishing paradox of 2021.

The cause of the consternation this year is whether to go all in on pickleball or padel.

After a beautiful year long foray with tennis where he learnt that people who've played the game regularly since childhood are at a level he'll never get to - unless he commits to something for like 5 years - Turner says he's now chasing the next fix.

"Honestly, padel is such a fun and athletic game, but I love the idea of being able to play pickleball anywhere really," he sighed.

"Like setting up on mum and dad's driveway at home is an option."

"But I just don't know if it's strenuous enough for me," continued the man who's already gone through his running and HIIT phase.

"So I think it's probably gotta be padel."

"And that way I can justify it as exercise to the cheese and kisses when I play multiple times a week," he laughed.

"Padel it is."

More to come.
