While today might be ‘America’s Day,’ there are plenty around our own country who don’t care too much for a game of football that takes nearly as long as a day of test cricket.

However, even those who aren’t interested in watching a bunch of American blokes develop CTE often check in with curiosity for the spectacle that is the half time show.

With specially made ads featured and news stories often generated by the extravagant show, this year organisers have opted for repackaging a sure-fire hit from yesteryear.

In a move that has drawn a few non-NFL fans eyes, the organisers have decided to hire the 2014 FIFA World Cup openers Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to play at half time.

It’s not yet known why Mr Worldwide didn’t get a call to perform alongside the two musical icons.

While the contents of the set-list were the subject of intense speculation, the pair disappointingly didn’t play either of their iconic football anthems in Waka Waka and Lets’s Get Loud.

However, it’s believed that the two iconic popstars performance was still enough to distract all the big fellas across the nation in NFL jerseys from getting their fingers all grubby in chicken wing hot sauce.
