Special Indigenous Envoy to the Federal Government, Tony Abbott has again arrived late to parliament house this week, while officially citing “Murri time” as his reason when quizzed by his superiors.

Similar to the ‘Port Moresby time’ joke he made while Prime Minister, this particular one-liner wasn’t specifically linked to the Liberal Government’s comedic indifference to rising sea waters, and more about how a relaxed old fulla like him needs to keep an eye on the clock!

Mr Abbott entered the room one hour and fifteen minutes after a round-table meeting was scheduled to begin. Seemingly not too fussed about it, Uncle Tony interrupted the room of important dignitaries, saying “Ay sorry you mob. Had my Murri watch on”, before asking a member of the Young Liberals to make him a cup of tea.

Reports confirm that Mr Abbott was also carrying a large tray of fresh yellow belly, which he had just cooked up in the office kitchen after a visit from some of the cousins.

“Here you mob, pass it around” he insisted, before explaining the superior qualities of fresh-caught fish.

“It’s better than anything you’ll get downstairs in that gammon cafe” he declared.

As the meeting continued, it’s attendees were frequently reminded to not be shy. “‘ere finish it off you mob. I’ve got a freezer full upstairs”.
