A relatively worldly Darling Downs man has today employed a secret technique used by those who don’t know how to pick things up with chopsticks.

Nick Gleeson (31) is very well aware that these eating utensils have been used in virtually all of East Asia for over 6000 years, but he just can’t get it right.

“From my understanding, the chopsticks were first used by the Chinese, chopsticks later spread to other locations including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and cities with Overseas Asian communities all around the globe.”

“They’ve made their way to Toowoomba… I just can’t get it right”

“I put too much pressure on myself and end up fucking the whole thing up”

While visiting the River City this weekend, Nick’s girlfriend Brisbane friends have booked them a table at a relatively high-end sashimi restaurant. The type that don’t even offer steel cutlery.

“I gotta keep it under the radar” he says, knowing full well that this meal with require 100% concentration from his end.

“Only order things that are soft in the middle, but still hold firm when you impale them”

“Then hold the sticks together like I know how to do it”

Nick says he preferences are gyoza or any kind of rice wrap that involves avocado.
