Prime Minister Scott Morrison has slammed the United States overnight for granting a visa to an unaccompanied European child who arrived by boat.

Labelling the decision as an ‘absolute brain-snap’, ScoMo said that this will only encourage other unaccompanied children to cross vast oceans in an effort to reach the developed world.

“By allowing this child to stay in America, it sends a deadly message to the people smugglers who brought her here to the United States as well as other Swedish children who are thinking about making the dangerous journey across the North Atlantic Ocean,”

The Prime Minister went onto explain that anybody who arrives or attempts to arrive by boat in Australia will not be settled in Australia and will be kept in offshore detention until they choose to go back to where they came from.

“It doesn’t matter that this child arrived on a multi-million dollar yacht that was purpose built for making journeys across the high seas. A boat is still a boat,” he contined.

When asked by a reporter if he thought the Swedish child in question had applied for a visa before hand – and wasn’t planning on claiming asylum while in America, Scott said that also didn’t matter.

“It sends the wrong message. Allow me to remind you of a passage in the Book of Matthew. Chapter 8, verse 23,”

“When He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him,”

“Actually wait. Hold on, that’s not the one.”

The Prime Minister’s handler then ushered him onto his next engagement, a visit to the Manhattan hospital bed where a tired old media mogul may or may not be dying right now.

More to come.
