It can now be confirmed that Aussie Gen Z women dream of moving to the Gold Coast, just like their fore-sisters dreamed of moving to Melbourne.

After turning twenty five, many Australian women find themselves going through a quarter life crisis as they consider moving to a different country, a different city, or going back to university.

For millennial women, that used to be London and Melbourne, but for Gen Z, it appears that the sunny shores of the Miami of Australia calls their name.

Looking at The Gold Coast now, you wouldn’t expect that it was one of the most popular retirement destinations fifteen years ago. But ever since the mass state migration during covid, which saw young people and families flock to the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, it’s become the hottest city for restless young women, who are unaware it’s full of glam bogans.

Our reporter speaks to a local Gen Z woman, to learn more.

“I’ve been thinking about moving to the Goldie for a while”, says Amelie, 26, who’s only knowledge of the GC is Tik Tok videos, “I’d love to live that laidback coastal lifestyle.”

“Getting up at 5am to go for a run on the beach.”

“Sounds like heaven.”

More to come.
