A local woman has today had to take an extra few deep breaths on her trip to the shops this morning.
With a due date looming way too fast, but also not near enough, an expecting Betoota Heights mum explained to The Advocate how she nearly lost it at Kmart before.
Sitting down on the shopping centre bench next to our visibly hungover reporter, Bridget Hills, 28, said it’s been a big morning.
“I need to get out of the house because I’m bored,” said Bridget on her second week of mat leave.
“But getting out of the house is a big lift.”
“Particularly when every old duck in eye sight decides to come up to you and treat you like public property.”
“Apparently patting someone else’s belly unprompted is just play on?”
On top of the comments about how she should feel physically, Bridget explained the emotional ones have also been doing her head in.
“Yeah apparently being bloated, uncomfortable, swollen, sweaty, with random pains in my arms and legs is actually really really beautiful,” said Bridget.
“I wasn’t aware, but now that old Bev down at Chemist Warehouse has told me it’s actually a magical time, I’ll make sure to enjoy tonight’s restless tossing and turning and 8 trips to the toilet.”
“All about perspective, hey.”
More to come.
