The nation of Australia is today celebrating another historic victory, with Ariarne Titmus bringing home Gold in the 400m freestyle.

In the nail-biting swim, the Gold Medalist from Tassie overcame American superstar and Rio Gold Medalist Katie Ledecky in a time of 3:56:69.

And, as confirmed by Arni’s coach Dean Boxall, the last 100 metres of one of the blue ribbon events of the pool sent the nation wild.

Channeling the energy of her coach and family, living rooms and workplaces around the nation went beserk as Tassie Titmus made up ground and stormed home to take home Gold.

It can also be confirmed that the event which had been billed as the battle between Titmus and Ledecky, 5 years in the making certainly lived up to the hype.

And with realisations at about 25 metres to go that the race had changed from ‘come on’ to ‘holy shit she’s gonna do it,’ the crescendo of the race sent the nation into a frenzied celebration.

“Mate, that was all of us,” said a local father of 3 from Betoota Heights a few moments ago.

“Even mum”
