TODAY ISN’T UNLIKE ANY OTHER day on the US presidential campaign trail, but it’ll go down in history as one of the most controversial.

Putting aside their differences for the first time in years, Republican hopeful Donald Trump has today announced that he’s chosen to run with world wrestling magnate and former business partner, Vince McMahon.

The news has left liberal news providers gobsmacked while answering the prayers of middle Americans from Georgia to Alaska.

“Vince and I have known each other for decades. We’ve done business together in the past and our kids grew up with one another,” said Trump.

“We both embody what it takes to succeed in America. Vince built is business from the ground up, just like me. This fine country gave us the opportunity to do that, but since then, we’ve lost our way,”

“Together, we average Americans, can make this country great again!”

Officials from the front-running Democratic candidates have yet to respond to the news.

Representatives from Hillary Clinton’s camp are expected to comment on the situation in the coming hours as the eyes of the nation descend on the Nevada primary vote later this week.

A Bernie Sanders insider made allusions over Twitter that the Senator from Vermont didn’t know who Vince McMahon was, asking a junior staffer to write a report on him.

On the other side of the political penny, some of McMahon’s current and former employees have taken to social media to congratulate the 70-year-old.
