Controversial men’s rights activist Bettina Arndt is facing further calls for her to be stripped of her Order of Australia medal as many in the local community feel it should go to someone who actually serves society.

Liana Demetriou serves her community.

For a number of years now, the 24-year-old from our town’s leafy north has taken photos of restaurant menus and uploaded them to popular food rating website, Zomato, where other people are able to see what local eateries offer from the comfort of their internet-connected device.

Not every restaurant or takeaway makes their full menu available online and it’s people like Liana that bridge the gap.

Her genuine and constructive service to the community is part of the reason why these calls have grown louder for Liana to receive her own Order of Australia medal – or at the very least, take Bettina’s one.

“It’d have to put it through the dishwasher before I could wear it,” she laughed.

Liana spoke to The Advocate this morning at her favourite Betoota Heights cafe, Things Joe Likes.

“The hot mode, too! That you use for pots and pans!”

“Nah, I don’t deserve a medal just for posting menus online. But I’ll tell you something for free, Bettina sure as shit doesn’t deserve one for stirring people up on the internet. Why don’t people just ingore that sucked-mango-seed looking lunatic and focus on giving people with something better to say a platform?”

“Fucks sake, it’s not that hard.”

Liana then suggested our reporter get the bacon and egg roll with the smokey tomato relish.

Our reporter did and it was fantastic.

More to come.
