A group of early 20s young men, fresh from the safety of the unpaid domestic labour of their mothers, have moved into a sharehouse together.

In the three months since signing the lease, their half-fucked rental property in Betoota’s buzzing and youthful French Quarter has already hosted multiple over-the-top house parties that have made enemies out of all of their neighbours.

There’s Joey, the street smart salesman. Zen the tech bro, and Keegan – the womaniser.

And with three different personalities comes three different crowds of friends. That is why their parties are so wild.

But how do the boys spend their downtime?

When they aren’t either slaving away at their email jobs or partying at a level that only young men can sustain – what do they get up to?

The answer is simple. They binge long-form HBO Series about men like them. Or at least, men that they believe are like them.  Luckily, the Australian launch of the new MAX streaming service has delivered this Holy Trinity of prestige boy-centric television to their living room.

Joey is obviously a Sopranos man. And honestly views himself as the modern Queensland incarnation of Tony Soprano. Just without the deeply troubling personal baggage.

Zen is all about Succession. He believes that the aspirational billionaire lifestyle of the Roy family is awaiting him in the not too distant future.

And Keegan sees a lot of himself in Vinnie Chase from Entourage. The girls, the marijuana, the tequila.

With only one TV in the house, the three gentlemen must negotiate who gets to watch what and when. They will inevitably watch all three.

As they return home from work on Friday afternoon, with a local pub playing a double header of football, and a house party down the road. Will the boys lift off? Or will they stay in and watch the telly.

Zen and Keegan have decided to do the latter. Joey comes into the living room reeking of Dior Sauvage.

“Just when I think I’m out. They pullllll me back in” he says.”
