World-conquering-batsman-turned-marginally-employed-dog-walker David Warner was spotting wrangling seven of celebrity publicist Roxy Jacenko’s prized rescue greyhounds this morning in Bondi, in one of his first public appearances since being sacked from the Australia cricket side for 12 months.

The fall-out from the Australian ball-tampering scandal saw Cricket Australia enter uncharted waters earlier this year, after appeasing the Australian media outrage machine and suspended both the vice captain and captain for one of the biggest stretches in recent memory.

However, Warner isn’t letting it ruin his vibe.

“Yeah mate, just walking them around the block a few times,” said Warner, 32.

“After I’m done with these wookatook looking things, I’m walking Clarkey’s dachshunds down to the shops to pick up some Swisse vitamins for Roxy and a box of Crownies for myself to rip into during tonight’s Origin match.”

“She’s only paying me $10 an hour, which is a bit shit. But I’ve got her American Express to buy the piss and pills with while she’s in London

“I’m remaining optimistic about the whole thing.”

“She reckons she might get me a few extras roles in Home And Away before the end of the year”

More to come.
