Although not mandatory, supporters of the 14 footy clubs that don’t make the grand final will usually pick one team to cheer for during the big dance.

This year, lovers of an underdog story are cheering for Parra while lovers of aqua golf are cheering for Penno. Yet one fanbase is stuck making a tricky 2019 federal election style choice.

Fans of the Canberra Raiders can either cheer for their arrogant rivals the Penrith Panthers or the Parramatta Eels who if victorious would pass the burden of the longest premiership drought onto the green machine.

It has been 36 years since Parramatta won the comp, making them the team with the longest time premiership drought.

Should they break that drought, the burden of the longest time between glorious drinks would pass to the Canberra Raiders who have not taken out top honours since 1994.

Not fancying the thought of being the non-Tigers laughing stock of the NRL, Raiders fan Cam Beryl (28) is considering actually supporting those arrogant liquorice-wearing weak gutted dogs he’s been raised to hate.

“I mean I want Parra to win but without breaking their premiership drought,” stated Beryl.

“If Ashely Klien could just clinically fuck up the game that would pretty much be the ideal result for me.”

“Fuck, I wish I was friends with some Warriors or Titans supporters.”

According to unconfirmed sources, it is alleged that both Parra and Riff fans will be doing a mock Viking Clap if victorious.

MORE TO COME.
