The NRL’s Integrity Unit is currently investigating some breaking news from the Harbour City of Sydney this afternoon.

This comes after the CEO of the NRL Todd Greenberg announced that he would be standing down from his position.

His decision follows weeks of negatives stories and the suspiciously rapid rise in the profile of Peter V’Landys, the games Chairman, and the Chief Executive of Racing NSW.

“Obviously, we are normally tied up with the boys doing dumb shit when they are cooked or pissed or sober, but this time around, we are looking at what the fuck’s going on up the top,” explained one member of the integrity unit who requested anonymity.

“There’s something very fishy going on. So we are investigating the circumstances around Todd’s decided to just stand down right now amidst the game trying to start back up, negotiate the TV rights payments for players and genuinely navigate through a crisis that could see the game collapse.”

“You’d think that given it’s a rugby league issue, there should be a trail of destruction and evidence everywhere you look, but then there’s the fact that there’s the boss of a racing body in charge, so it will make it very interesting indeed.”

It’s not known who is set to replace Greenberg, but the Patron Saint of Penrith Gus Gould is rumoured to be a chance of stepping up to the plate.
