As Queenslanders relish in the sheer euphoria of being from the superior state this morning, analysis of last night’s glorious Origin decider is pinballing around workplaces and schoolyards across the country.

The big mentions obviously go to Ben Hunt, Dane Gagai, Tom Dearden and Big Tino – with countless jokes at the expense of Brad Fittler and Joey Johns.

However, there is also some cause for concern from the nation’s mothers about those boys that took a wack last night.

Betoota Grove mum of three, Debbie Shoreditch says while she’s feeling just as vindicated as every other underestimated Queenslander across the country – she does have a few questions.

Calling around the family this morning, Debbie is one of millions of Queensland mum’s who wants to know about the welfare of her boys.

“Is that darling Selwyn alright??” she asks.

“That looked pretty scary. And he’s so young”

“I know the bigger boys like Papali’i and Lindsay get take the rough and tumble… But Selwyn is only a baby”

After having her fears soothed by the news that the Origin debutant Selwyn Cobbo is expected to make a quick recovery from last night’s blood binning, Debbie is now relaxed enough to go back to basking in the glory.

When asked if she was concerned about whether Matt Burton was okay, after eating 6 of Gagai’s overhand rights, Debbie is nonplussed.

“Fuck no” she says.

“He was asking for it. Ya get what ya get”
