A young millennial living in Brisbane’s inner city is facing heavy criticism this week, after trying to negotiate his terms of employment with his boss.

The 22-year-old rugby league player is under fire for trying to force his boss to give him a pay rise, above what was previously negotiated.

However, given his recent performances, coupled with a few years of toiling away for an underperforming company, the young man has asked his boss to bump his pay up to a market rate.

That culminated in a standoff last week, with the young worker telling his boss that he wants an immediate release from the company – a clever contract gimmick from his new management who may be tarnishing his name in the media to try and earn their 8% from a ‘new upgraded contract.’

Regardless of the ins and outs of the way the contract system in the professional sporting world works, the negotiations have since been vigorously discussed in the media as if there is a power imbalance held by a 22-year-old over a huge company.

“It’s just fucking disgraceful,” explained some red-wine-faced clickbait journo who has decided this is the outrage article of the week.

“Who does he think he is? This is just a blatant cash grab,” said the man who had 10,000 deposited onto his betting account by a prominent underworld figure.

“He’s taking the fans for fools, and you just hate to see this club stuffed over,” finished the man who seems to ignore that clubs just cast aside players whenever it suits them.

“Terrible.”

More to come.
