A local woman has had a ‘little win’ this week, after discovering that all of her go-to comfort shows and movies are available on MAX, a new streaming service to hit Aus, it’s reported.

Laura Coolen, a thirty two year old insurance agent from Betoota Heights, says the decision to make the switch to Max came to her last Sunday, when she realised she no longer had the mental capacity to watch stressful TV shows anymore.

Speaking to our reporter, Laura says she doesn’t know if it’s a sign of ageing or because life feels stressful enough right now, between the cost of living crisis and the volatile trade market.

“I don’t understand how my boyfriend can have a long, stressful day at work and then come home and watch Succession”, admits Laura, “when I get home, I just want to watch something that doesn’t require all my concentration.”

“Honestly, I’m just rewatching all my favourites. I like knowing what’s going to happen, it’s the perfect escape.”

“I have enough stress in my life, I don’t need to make it recreational.”

Laura says she’s happy she’s made the switch to MAX, adding that she reckons a very switched on millennial woman must have been responsible for choosing the TV shows.

“It’s got everything I want to watch – Sex and The City, Friends, Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, The Vampire Diaries, The OC.”

“All the Harry Potter collections, though I only rewatch the first four movies because the rest gets super dark.”

“Ever since I subscribed to MAX, I’m never have to leave the couch ever again. It’s my happy place.”

More to come.
