In some breaking news from our French Quarter today, a local man from across the ditch has revealed he doesn’t own a single basketball singlet.

Yep, you are reading that correctly

He doesn’t own a Tall Blacks singlet, or a Breakers one or a LeBron one, or even a Jordan Bulls one.

The shocking news was revealed over some staff drinks at a local pub last night as Jordie Smith (pronounced smuth) explained that he just never bought or was given one.

“I just don’t really like basketball,” said the South Island farm boy who thinks liking basketball is a pre-requisite for owning a jersey.

“I’m pretty pasty, and a singlet isn’t good for me in the brighter weather you know.”

“I just didn’t realise this was such a big thing,” said the man about the shocking fact.

“I guess I just never noticed that every single male from the New Zealand owns one.”

“Maybe I’ll get wee one for Chrissy.”

“That’d be mean aye.”
