A local woman has today made the unwise decision of asking her male friend for dating advice, instead of her usual process of spending a solid hour dissecting every interaction with her girlfriends.

Figuring it would be good to get a male’s opinion on her recent situation, Nat Ellis had invited her good mate Ben to lunch to gather his thoughts about the behaviour of a bloke she was seeing and ask what she could do in response.

However, as someone who was used to being offered delicate advice whilst having her feelings validated, Nat was completely unprepared for Ben’s bluntness.

“I’m not sure if this guy is into me?” said Nat, “he doesn’t seem to message me much, is that a sign of disinterest?”

“Like, he was so chatty at the start so I don’t know if I’ve done something wrong, I don’t know if I was too forward? I did mention I was dating for a relationship? Fuck, maybe I shouldn’t have said that, what do you think? Would that scare you off?”

Nodding his head as he appeared to ponder, Ben enquired how many dates Nat had been on.

“Two.”

“Have you rooted him yet?”

“Haha no, I was going to wait until the third date as I want to get to know him first, I don’t want to be seen as a hookup.”

Letting out a chortle, Ben kindly informs Nat that the bloke has ‘probably found someone else to slap happies with’, and that this ‘wasn’t Pride and Prejudice.”

“Nah you gotta get in quick Nat, house goes to the highest bidder.”

“Give him a root and see what happens.”

More to come.
