GET IT???? A local girl has left her friends reeling after dropping a joke so niche and obscure, it’s been confirmed by experts that understanding it requires at least 100+ hours of screen time.
Chloe Stewart (27), a self-proclaimed meme connoisseur, made the now-infamous remark at a house party last night, referencing an arcane Reddit thread, an obscure Vine, and a TikTok sound that hasn’t been popular since 2021. The joke, which included references to several dead internet trends, left her friends either laughing nervously or desperately Googling the punchline.
“I think I got it… but honestly, I don’t know anymore.” said Tim (25), whose only form or social scrolling is spending 20 minutes every day checking his Linkedin.
Experts say the joke was a prime example of the “hyper-Internet” phenomenon, where references have evolved so deeply into niche culture that even the most seasoned screen-scrollers can’t keep up.
“I honestly just nodded and smiled,” said Lucy (24), whose Instagram feed is exclusively cat memes and travel influencers. “I’ll never understand it. I’ll never be that online.”
Despite the confusion, Chloe remains unfazed, confident that her joke was a true display of her “online mastery.”
“I mean, if you didn’t get it, you probably haven’t spent enough time on the deep web,” she said, scrolling through Reddit for her next hit.
More to come.
