A local couple have been forced to make the best out of a shit salad this week by masquerading as a nomadic influencer couple, it’s reported.

Chloe and Mason Novak are alleged to have been living in one bedroom near Sydney CBD, which they paid a staggering $680 a week for – a premium cost for a unit that didn’t even include a carport, but at least the bed wasn’t in the kitchen.

However, as of two weeks ago, the couple were notified that their rent would be increasing to $750 a week, with the landlord merely stating that he was ‘adjusting the rent to market value.’ Though this would have been ludicrous a few years ago,  he’ll likely have no trouble finding tenants as many have been left battling to find a home.

Both a little naive to the current rental crisis and not keen on getting ripped off, the couple had figured they’d have better luck finding a cheaper apartment further away from the city, which should have been an easy feat considering their flawless rental history. But unfortunately, after one month and roughly twenty rental applications, the Novak’s find themselves left with no other option but to live that #vanlife, using the last bit of their savings to invest in a second hand kombi.

Documenting their travels on Instagram, the couple have at least been able to net themselves a few thousand followers by pretending that this was a lifestyle choice and not the only thing stopping them from living in a hostel, though it’s unlikely they’re will be any brand endorsements coming their way soon.

More to come.
