Australian backpacker transport rental company Wicked Camper Vans have today apologised for what has been described as a lapse in judgement, after one of their vehicles was seen brandished with one of the creepiest quotes in Australian political history.

The quote: “Virginity is the greatest gift that you can give someone” is attributed to then opposition leader Tony Abbott in 2010, in response to a question about what he tells his teenage daughters when it comes to talking about sex before marriage.

This follows the news that South Australia could become the next state to ban offensive slogans from its roads including those featured on Wicked Campers vans, because of concerns they promote “sexism, racism and violence against women”.

However, Wicked Camper Vans refuse to apologise for all of the 1980’s bumper-sticker level of sexual humour, such as ‘if this van a rockin dont come a-knocking’ or even the classic RSL catcall ‘nice legs, what time do they open’.

In fact, a spokesperson for Wicked have today said that they feel all of the spray-painted slogans are actually pretty funny, except for the Tony Abbott quote.

“Fuck me. That’s just weird” said the spokesperson.

“I guess we can put it down to the Norwegian tourists that work in the car lot, they must have just hit google for some Aussie quotes and pulled out that one”

“It’s fucking creepy to be honest, sorry about that”
