Australia’s youth radio Triple J has today officially come clean about how obsessed they are with the 22-year-old Australian musician, singer-songwriter and looping artist, Tash Sultana.
The marijuana-friendly arm of the public broadcaster has announced that they will be changing their name to Tash Sultana FM for the next 6 or so months.
After months of incessant airtime, it has become clear to many listeners that someone at Triple J likes Tash Sultana – and today it was confirmed for all by the station’s music director, Richard Kingsmill.
“Triple J will be rebranded to Tash Sultana FM for the foreseeable future,” said the 68-year-old.
With the future of music radio looking grim, it is believed that the name-change will help Triple J stay hip with the youth.
“She seems to be what the young people like… So we are going hard on her”
“What we are doing with Tash Sultana is just like what we did with the Courtney Barnett programming over the last two years, and Tame Impala before that”
